Ryan Nagy, MD


As president of the IU Health adult academic health center (AAHC), Dr. Nagy is responsible for determining the strategic vision and priorities for IU Health Methodist and University Hospitals. Serving as president since 2016, Dr. Nagy has provided oversight for the new Indianapolis downtown hospital project and has led successful efforts to enhance the quality of care and overall patient experience.

Dr. Nagy joined the AAHC in 2012 as an anesthesiologist. During his tenure at IU Health, he has held a number of leadership roles, including chief of anesthesiology and chief medical officer. He remains a practicing anesthesiologist at University Hospital, which allows him to combine his clinical experience and operational expertise to guide decisions and drive the future of care.

Dr. Nagy earned his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine. He holds a master’s degree in business administration and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Indiana University.

Jose Azar, MD

Chief Quality Officer

Dr. Azar is the chief quality officer for the adult academic health center, which includes Methodist and University Hospitals. He is responsible for guiding the organization’s efforts to demonstrate the highest quality and safety outcomes and provides oversight to the regulatory and accreditation processes.

Since joining IU Health in 2009 as a Hematology/Oncologist, Dr. Azar has led a variety of efforts focused on continuous quality improvement and enhancing the culture of patient safety. In 2010, he served as the medical director of oncology quality and safety, and in 2014, he progressed into the role of medical director of quality and safety. Dr. Azar remains a practicing Hematologist/Oncologist at the IU Health Simon Cancer Center.

Dr. Azar is a graduate of the American University of Beirut School of Medicine and completed an Internal Medicine Residency Program and Fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at the Indiana University School of Medicine.

Parveen Chand, MHA, FACHE

Chief Operating Officer

Parveen Chand, MHA, FACHE, joined IU Health as chief operating officer for IU Health Methodist and University hospitals in August 2016.

An experienced hospital administrator, Chand comes to IU Health from Eskenazi Health, where he served as COO for three years. Prior to that he was COO at Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska, a 334-bed teaching hospital for Creighton University, and at St. Mary’s Hospital in Streator, Illinois. He also served as an assistant administrator at Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital, St. Peters, Missouri.

Chand earned a degree in biology at St. Louis University and completed graduate studies in health administration at Washington University School of Medicine, also in St. Louis.

Liz Linden, DNP, RN, NE-BC

Chief Nursing Officer

Elizabeth (Liz) Linden is chief nursing officer for IU Health Methodist and University hospitals, leading nursing operations and strategy through strong relationships, positive team member engagement and the promotion of an environment of compassion for children and their families.

Linden has nearly two decades of nursing and leadership experience, with integral roles with women’s health, adult services, cancer genetics and community outreach. An accomplished, insightful leader, Linden has a knack for supporting and guiding people through complex situations and competing priorities.

She holds a bachelor’s in nursing, a master’s in nursing administration and a doctorate in nursing practice from Indiana University School of Nursing and is an active member of the American Organization for Nurse Leadership and the American Nurses Association. Linden also serves on the board of Chaucie’s Place, where she works to support the end of child sexual abuse and teen suicide.

Julia Kidder, MBA

Interim Chief Financial Officer

Julia Kidder joined the IU Health team in 2013, most recently serving as the executive director of strategic financial planning where she was responsible for overseeing the IU Health system budget and long range financial plan.

In March 2020, Kidder was appointed the interim chief financial officer for Methodist and University hospitals. In this role, Kidder administers, directs and monitors all hospital financial activities, serving as a trusted advisor to ensure the financial sustainability of the $2+ billion organization. She also provides oversight to the academic health center project.

Prior to joining IU Health, she completed the Teach for American program in Chicago, IL and worked for the Indiana Department of Education. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Harvard University and a master’s of business administration from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business.

Mark Luetkemeyer, MD

Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Luetkemeyer is the chief medical officer for the adult academic health center, which includes Methodist and University Hospitals. He is responsible for steering clinical policy decision-making and leading a talented team of medical directors and physician leadership to enhance the quality of care, overall patient experience, and continuous quality improvement processes.

Since joining the team at Methodist Hospital in 2007 as a dedicated hospitalist, Dr. Luetkemeyer has progressed into a number of leadership roles. He served as the hospitalist medical director from 2012-2018, director of inpatient medicine from 2017-2018, and as president of the medical staff for the academic health center in 2017.

Dr. Luetkemeyer is a graduate of the Southern Illinois School of Medicine and the Indiana University School of Medicine Internal Medicine Residency Program. He is board certified in Internal Medicine with Focused Practice in Hospital Medicine.

Lindsay Proctor, OTR, MBA

Chief of Staff

Lindsay Proctor is the chief of staff for the adult academic health center, which includes Methodist and University Hospitals. In this role, Proctor serves as an advisor to the Office of the President and is responsible for advancing the organization’s strategic initiatives. She manages the executive office and serves as a liaison for key constituents and partners. In addition, she provides oversight to the academic health center project.

Proctor came to IU Health in 2016 from Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. At Northwestern, she served as an occupational therapist for nearly a decade before advancing into various clinical management and healthcare administration roles. Proctor earned a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University and a master’s in business administration from Loyola University, Chicago.
